Master of Occupational Therapy: Admissions

Submit applications through The Centralized Application Service for Occupational Therapy (OTCAS). This program does not accept applications through the AHU website.

Please provide transcripts from each regionally accredited institution attended. Transcripts must be sent directly to OTCAS. We do not accept transcripts delivered directly to our campus. Coursework (prerequisite and the completion of a bachelor’s degree) can be outstanding at the time of application but both must be completed before the program begins each Fall.

We require course-by-course transcript evaluations of college work that has been done outside of the United States. Transcript evaluations must be done by World Education Services (WES) and sent to OTCAS.

List any courses taken by College Level Examination Program (CLEP), Advanced Placement (AP), and/or International Baccalaureate (IB) exam on your OTCAS application.

Possess a minimum cumulative college GPA of 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) on pre-requisites.

Provide evidence for completing all prerequisites before program start date. 75% of pre-requisite courses should be completed prior to application to the program. Anatomy and Physiology 1, with lab, should also be completed prior to submission of application.

• General Psychology
• Developmental Psychology
• Abnormal Psychology
• Sociology/Anthropology
• Statistics
• Medical Terminology
• Four credits of biology with lab or physics with lab or general chemistry with lab

Provide evidence of completing a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution before program start date.

The GRE is not a requirement for admission to the MOT program at AHU.

In addition to OTCAS application fee, AHU also requires a $50 supplemental application fee, which can be paid online, by check, or over the phone at Call407-303-1631.

Author an essay outlining the reason for choosing to attend a faith-based institution and why AHU is a primary choice. This will be submitted through the Program Materials section in OTCAS.

Applicants for whom English is not their primary language or have graduated from a non-English speaking school must demonstrate English proficiency in one or the following ways:

• Successful completion of a bachelor’s degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction in the United States; or
  • A minimum score of 550 on the paper-based TOEFL exam; or
  • A minimum score of 213 on the computer-based TOEFL exam; or
  • A minimum score of 79 on the Internet-based TOEFL exam.

TOEFL scores can be submitted through OTCAS application.

If selected as a top applicant, we will contact the applicant for scheduling of an interview.

If you're accepted to our program, you will need to submit a nonrefundable $500 deposit to reserve your spot in our program. An acceptance letter will outline a deposit amount and deadline indicating when the deposit must be received. Once enrolled in the program, these funds will be applied to your student account. If you pay the deposit but decline to enroll in the program, you will forfeit the deposit. If you are admitted to the same program at a later date, we will require another full deposit. If you are admitted to the program with prerequisites in progress or bachelor’s degree in progress and become ineligible for admission due to incompletion; the deposit will be forfeited. A professional program deposit is not transferable to another program.
